I am passionate about supporting children who are struggling in school and finding ways for them to become independent learners. I have worked with children's overall development and learning for the past 18 years in both private and state sector from nursery up to Key Stage 3. As a parent of two children with Dyslexia and ADHD, I understand how challenging home life and school can be for them. This has driven me to specialise in Specific Learning Difficulties to understand their learning profile and provide support.

I am a qualified teacher of modern languages and after teaching French in adult education for a number of years, I was also asked to tutor some adult literacy classes. It was then I became aware of the great need for specialist teachers of students with specific learning difficulties so embarked on a part-time Level 5 Certificate for supporting learners with dyslexia. Soon afterwards I moved into the primary sector, where I worked as a SENDCo for five years, during which time I also started studying for my Level 7 Spld Diploma followed by an assessor's award for carrying out exam access arrangements.

I have worked in Special Educational Needs for over 15 years, teaching primary and secondary school learners in both state and private sectors. My interest in Dyslexia began some years ago when my daughter received her diagnosis and I began to support her through her school and university education. Since then, I have trained as a Specialist Dyslexia teacher and assessor and I am passionate about working with dyslexic and neurodiverse students and their parents to support them in their education and life beyond school.

Hello, I’m Jennifer Renna, a specialist teacher qualified to formally diagnose dyslexia in children aged 8-12. I also provide specialist tuition for children with literacy and mathematical difficulties.
My approach is strengths-based and focused on building a positive rapport with each student. I firmly believe that children can flourish when teaching is tailored to their unique needs and I aim to create a learning environment that nurtures their confidence as well as developing their knowledge and skills in literacy and mathematics.
With 20 years’ experience supporting children with specific learning difficulties/dyslexia, including 15 years as a SENCO in a London primary school, I bring passion, creativity and deep understanding to every assessment and lesson. I’ve seen first-hand that with the right support, children with dyslexia can not only succeed, but truly thrive and I’m committed to helping them realise that success.

I am teacher of 25+ years of teaching in a variety of settings from Nursery to adults. It all started when I saw many children struggling with learning. Understanding gaps/barriers to literacy learning especially in the formative years and understanding early child development helped me to adapt my teaching for Neurodiverse/ SpLd children. I always try to share this knowledge with professionals and parents. The impact is not always understood for Dyslexic children as schools make judgement on memory and literacy, the areas dyslexic children find most difficult. Making the whole school experience intolerable. By making changes and learning more accessible for all learners by adapting teaching methods that suited different learning styles. I feel that as a teacher I am on a learning journey with my students.
